⚠  What happens when ATF finds a bound book error
Per 27 C.F.R. § 478.125, FFLs are required to maintain a complete and accurate Acquisition & Disposition record for every firearm received or transferred. Errors, omissions, or missing disposition data discovered during an ATF compliance inspection can result in a warning letter, a revocation hearing, or — in cases of willful violation — criminal referral. This tool finds those errors before your inspector does.

1
Upload your file
Export your bound book from your POS or FFL software as a CSV or Excel file and upload it to the tool.

2
Auto-validation runs
Every row is checked against 27 C.F.R. § 478.125 field requirements, format rules, and NFA transfer documentation flags.

3
Review your report
Receive a row-level compliance report showing every pass, warning, and error with the specific requirement that was triggered.

4
Correct & re-run
Fix flagged entries in your FFL software, export again, and re-run until your report is clean — before your next inspection.

Each check is a single validation run against your bound book file. Choose the tier that matches your row count. Checks never expire.

Warning

Error / Flag
Required field missing, NFA documentation gap detected, or logical data error. Correction required before the next ATF inspection.

What file formats are accepted?
The tool accepts CSV and Excel (.xlsx, .xls) exports from all major FFL management software including Orchid POS, FastBound, Rapid Gun Systems, Celerant, and any system that exports a standard A&D column format.

How is my row count determined?
Row count is the total number of firearm entries (data rows, excluding headers) in the uploaded file. The tool will confirm your row count before consuming a check and alert you if your file exceeds the purchased tier.

What if I correct errors and need to re-run?
Each validation run consumes one check. After correcting flagged entries in your FFL software, export a fresh file and purchase a new check to re-validate. Many FFLs purchase a small bundle of checks to cover an initial run plus one or two correction cycles.

Does this replace an ATF audit or legal review?
No. This tool checks for common formatting errors and missing required fields. It does not substitute for a full ATF compliance audit, a licensed attorney’s review, or an FFL compliance consultant’s on-site inspection. Use it as a first-pass filter before those reviews.

Is my data stored after the validation runs?
Your bound book data is processed for validation purposes only and is not retained after the report is generated. Firepower Focus does not store, sell, or share your firearm transfer records.

Do checks expire?
No. Purchased checks never expire and can be used at any time. Stock up before your inspection season.

This tool validates bound book entries against field-level requirements set forth in 27 C.F.R. § 478.125 and does not constitute legal advice or an official ATF compliance determination. Results are based on data as submitted and depend on the accuracy and completeness of your export file. Firepower Focus is not responsible for ATF inspection outcomes, license revocations, or other regulatory actions. Always consult a licensed FFL compliance attorney before your ATF inspection. Checks are non-refundable once a validation run is completed against a valid file.
